RINA is currently recruiting for a HW Design Engineer to join its office in L'Aquilawithin the Electronics and System Engineering Division.
Mission
The role focuses on contributing to the design and verification of complex digital boards, managing high-speed signals, developing power management solutions, and ensuring signal and power integrity also with the use of electromagnetic simulation software tools. You will be involved in integration and testing activities, as well as preparing detailed project documentation and participating in technical reviews with customers.
Key Accountabilities
Hardware Design: - Contribute to designing of complex digital boards based on FPGA and microcontrollers. - Contribute to the development of impedance-controlled boards for high-speed signal management and routing. - Create power management and distribution boards. Signal and Power Integrity: - Ensure design for signal integrity and power integrity under the supervision of Senior Hardware Engineer. - Conduct board and component analysis, simulation, and design under the supervision of Senior Hardware Engineer. - Intraboard and multiboard high-speed bus analysis. - Analysis of the respect of the manufacturer guideline for board fabrication. Integration and Testing: - Perform integration and test activities in the laboratory environment under the supervision of Senior Hardware Engineer. - Conduct thorough testing to validate design performance and reliability under the supervision of Senior Hardware Engineer. Documentation: - Prepare comprehensive project documentation including Technical Data Packages, Production Packages, Test Requirements, and Test Procedures. - Ensure all documentation meets industry standards and customer requirements. Customer Interaction: - Present project technical reviews to customers, providing clear and concise explanations of design choices and progress. - Address customer inquiries and incorporate feedback into design improvements.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic/TLC Engineering or Electronics
Qualifications
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in hardware design, preferably in aerospace applications.
2. Proficiency in designing digital boards with FPGA and microcontrollers.
3. Experience with impedance-controlled board design for high-speed signals.
4. Knowledge of power management and distribution board design.
5. Strong understanding of signal integrity and power integrity principles.
6. Proficient in hardware simulation and analysis tools.
7. Good to have: proficiency in using Siemens HyperLynx, Ansys HFSS e/o Dassault CST, MathWorks Matlab.
