In this critical role, the Business Development, Global AFG Senior Manager will work closely with customers, partners, cross-functional stakeholders, and executive leaders in the development and execution of growth strategies, with a focus on application-driven growth in the Lighting vertical market.
The Sr. Manager will identify target applications and subsystems to scope opportunities and translate them into solutions, including current and future products. They will establish guidelines for best-in-class Go-To-Market plans, conduct market research, participate in trade shows, tech forums, and customer visits.
This role requires extensive interaction with external stakeholders (customers, partners) and internal stakeholders (sales, product management, engineering, operations, finance) to identify opportunities, develop value propositions, position the product/portfolio, and promote to achieve revenue goals.
* Implement and update the AFG Market model using application teardown, customer mapping, and market trend knowledge.
* Establish a Management Operating System for AFG.
* Support and drive product strategy across sub-verticals.
* Engage with customers and collaborate with sales to develop new business pipelines.
* Lead commercialization activities, including ecosystem relationship development, proposals, and business structures, incorporating customer feedback.
* Develop customer proposals, presentations, business cases, and financial models.
* Communicate with and influence executive leaders and stakeholders for growth strategy execution.
* Develop and own mid- and long-term plans with target setting for specific vertical markets.
* Map applications to customers and rigorously measure revenue and pipeline.
Your ideal background :
* Bachelor's degree in business management, strategic marketing, or engineering.
* Experience in corporate strategy within an industrial company.
* Preference for candidates with Lighting Industry experience.
* Experience engaging with executives and C-suite through effective communication.
* Strong analytical, systematic strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
* Detail-oriented, accurate, and outcome-driven.
* Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthesize complex ideas.
* Ability to understand the big picture and translate customer needs into opportunities.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced global environment.
* Willingness to support travel from 25% to 50% (regional and global).
