Orient Express will open its second hotel in Italy at the exceptional in Venice. Architect and interior designer Aline Amar d’Amman, alongside her studio Culture in Architecture, has been entrusted to design and decorate the space.
Venice, once the gateway to Constantinople and a mythical stop on the legendary Orient Express train – that opened its doors in 1919 with the completion of the Simplon tunnel linking Switzerland to Italy – will be the home of the second Orient Express hotel, set to open in 2026.
Job Description
We are looking for a Room Service Waiter who shares a passion for excellence and luxury hospitality. Our Room Service Waiter have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the hotel.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room, check completed kitchen orders with the coordinator or guest’s original order; transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
2. Greet guests, describe selected items to the guest and vivid descriptions of each item’s origin, taste, and preparation methods. Highlight any special requests or dietary restrictions. Communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to request for tray removal according to established time standards.
3. Breakdown, clean and set-up of room service tables, condiment set-ups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations.
4. Delivery of daily amenities to guest rooms and ensuring amenities are placed in the room prior to the arrival of guests.
5. Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
6. Properly and accurately close guest checks securing room number and signature; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals.
7. Availability to work on shifts, holidays and night shifts.
Qualifications
8. Ability to communicate professionally and accurately
9. Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
10. Ability to accurately read and work with computer systems.
11. Strong Customer Service skills
12. Minimum 1 year of food service or customer service-related work
