It’s Better with Bakelite. /p h3Position Overview /h3 pThe Europe ECI Engineer (FS Specialist) will serve as the regional subject matter expert in Functional Safety, ensuring compliance with international standards and supporting safe, reliable operations across European manufacturing sites. This role will lead functional safety lifecycle activities and provide technical guidance to sites, while also contributing to broader Electrical, Controls Instrumentation (ECI) initiatives such as asset lifecycle management, capital project design, and standardization efforts. /p h3Job Responsibilities /h3 ul liFunctional Safety Leadership (Core) ul liAct as Functional Safety Subject Matter Expert (e.g., TÜV FSEng., Exida CFSP/E). /li liProvide technical support on the functional safety lifecycle, including compliance with IEC 61511/61508. /li liSupport authority engagement and improvement projects related to safety systems. /li liDevelop and build internal FS capability. /li /ul /li liAsset Lifecycle Program Support ul liContribute to lifecycle strategy for control systems and electrical infrastructure. /li liApply knowledge in cable calculations, fault studies, ATEX equipment selection, and maintenance best practices. /li liHelp safeguard long-term productivity and improve energy efficiency. /li liSupport proactive EI program management to prevent failures and reduce downtime risks. /li /ul /li liECI Capital Project Design ul liAssist in the design and execution of ECI capital projects. /li liSupport internal delivery of detailed design to reduce external resource costs. /li liContribute to scope development and technical documentation for EI programs. /li /ul /li liECI Technical Standards Development ul liSupport the development and roll-out of standardized ECI design, installation, and commissioning practices. /li liPromote harmonized engineering solutions across European sites to reduce rework and improve efficiency. /li /ul /li liDiscipline Engineering Support ul liProvide expert ECI support to sites, increasing internal capacity. /li liAssist with site compliance, authority engagement, and improvement initiatives. /li /ul /li /ul h3Education Experience /h3 pEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field. /p pCertifications: TÜV Functional Safety Engineer or Exida CFSP/E certification strongly preferred. /p pExperience: /pul li7–10 years in ECI engineering with a strong focus on functional safety. /li liProven experience in FS lifecycle management and compliance. /li liExposure to capital project design, asset lifecycle planning, and technical standardization (desirable). /li /ul h3Disclaimer /h3 pWe are not accepting unsolicited assistance from search firms/employment agencies for this employment opportunity.
