Who We Are Supporting The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO's member countries and its partners. Established in 2012 and headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, NCIA delivers a wide range of services: Cyber Security – advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO communication networks and information systems against cyber threats. Command and Control Systems – systems used by NATO's military commanders to plan and execute operations. Satellite Communications – services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces. Electronic Warfare – services to support NATO's mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks. Information Management – management of NATO's information technology infrastructure, including databases, applications and servers. Overall, NCIA plays a critical role in ensuring the security and effectiveness of NATO's communication and information technology capabilities. The Program Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS). The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) is NATO's principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider, maintaining and defending the NATO enterprise‐wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV and, when required, stand together under Article V. To provide these critical services the NCI Agency needs a high‐performance engaged workforce. The workforce comprises NATO International Civilians (NIC), Military (Mil) and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC), who make up approximately 15 % of the total workforce. Role Role ID: 2025-0281 The NCI Agency has been established with a view to meeting the collective requirements of some or all NATO nations in the fields of capability delivery and service provision related to Consultation, Command & Control as well as Communications, Information and Cyber Defence functions. We require specialised advisory services to enhance our interim workforce capacity. Role Duties And Responsibilities Maintain prime power systems (transformer vaults to distribution boards). Operate and maintain diesel‐electric generators, ensuring fuel supply and availability. Provide compliance inspections in accordance with CEI 64/08 prescriptions. No‐Break Power Systems – Operate and maintain UPS, batteries, and emergency lighting. Perform preventive maintenance on cross‐site cabling, grounding, lightning protection, radomes, EMP pneumatic doors and hydraulic systems. Provide basic maintenance of site security systems (gates, bollards, access infrastructure). Provide maintenance of HVAC, heating, air handling units and fire protection systems. Collaborate with industry providers for contracted services under Site Engineer oversight. Maintain accurate service records in TT‐Comms, ITSM, and site logbooks. Provide monthly status reports on maintenance, incidents and improvements. Support Site Engineers in planning, scheduling and executing maintenance activities. Essential Skills, Experience And Certifications Minimum 5 years of hands‐on experience in power systems maintenance and troubleshooting. Expertise in power distribution systems, UPS units and generators. Proficiency in monitoring and maintaining equipment such as rectifiers, inverters and RF amplifiers with remote telemetry and control systems knowledge. Experience ensuring compliance with safety standards, preventive maintenance schedules and technical documentation for classified or mission‐critical operations. Familiarity with DoD power system standards, STIG compliance for infrastructure components and audit support for operational readiness. Education Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or a related field; alternatively 5 years of technical experience. Language Proficiency English: C1 level Working Location Lughezzano, Italy Working Policy Onsite Travel Some travel to other NATO sites may be required.
