JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
The Senior Consultant has primary responsibility for direct supervision of Consultants in executing project work plans. The Senior Consultant has direct, client-facing engagement responsibilities. Serving as both role model and trainer, the Senior Consultant demonstrates the attributes of excellent client service and assists team members in developing technical and professional competency. The Senior Consultant learns to identify areas of risk and opportunities to improve business processes.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Reviewing, documenting, evaluating and testing credit risk and financial models in a wide range of environments tailored to specific client needs.
2. Communicating model/operational strengths and weaknesses to the client or engagement team and developing effective solutions.
3. Ensure timely completion of assigned project phases.
4. Develop and maintain effective client relationships.
5. Apply understanding of Protiviti policies and proficiency in Protiviti methodologies.
6. Apply understanding of business processes and technical skills to successful completion of project assignments.
7. Develop understanding of project requirements and client’s business.
8. Supervise and train project personnel.
9. Preparing timely project status reports on findings and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
General Knowledge & Skills
10. Prior experience in operational risk management, credit risk management (consumer or commercial), quantitative risk management, and/or economic capital strongly preferred.
11. Prior experience in a banking environment strongly preferred.
12. Prior project management and supervisory skills.
13. Interpersonal skills to interact in team environment and foster client relationships.
14. Demonstrated understanding of the importance of business.
15. Above average written communication skills including documentation of findings and recommendations.
16. Strong analytical skills.
17. Must be able to handle highly confidential information in a strictly professional manner.
18. Must be able to maintain professional demeanor in times of high stress.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
19. Solid knowledge of process reengineering and methodologies, including flowcharting.
20. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
21. Familiarity with one or more of the following is preferred: SAS, SPSS, KMV Portfolio Manager, Bancware, Value-at-Risk models, RAROC, Valuation Models, Credit Scoring Models, Credit Bureau data/models.
Education & Professional Credentials
22. Bachelor’s degree in relevant quantitative discipline (e.g. Accounting/Finance, other business-related fields, or engineering/physical sciences) required.
23. Required minimum GPA 3.0.
24. 3+ years in a related field, preferably in financial services.
25. Completion of Bank/Rating Agency Credit Program.
Ability to Travel
26. Travel throughout the month frequently required based on client requests/commitments.
