As Head of Marketing – Surgical, supporting our Surgical Marketing organization, you will be trusted to shape strategic product direction and drive brand performance for a key product line in Italy. In this role, a typical day will include:
Collaborating with cross‑functional partners—including Product Development, Sales, and Professional Education—to solve complex market and customer challenges
Leading the development and execution of short‑ and long‑range strategic plans for a defined surgical product portfolio
Conducting competitive analysis and market research to evaluate product viability, customer behavior, and professional audience needs
Directing downstream marketing initiatives, including launch planning, demand creation, brand positioning, and marketing material development
Guiding product lifecycle decisions by assessing brand performance, identifying enhancement opportunities, and recommending product improvements based on customer and sales force insights
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in product marketing, brand management, or related commercial roles
Proven success leading product strategy, launches, and lifecycle management—ideally within medical devices, healthcare, or similarly regulated industries
Expertise in market analysis, segmentation, and competitive assessment
Strong command of downstream marketing strategy, product positioning, and demand generation
Ability to interpret medical, clinical, and technical product information
Financial acumen to forecast, plan budgets, and evaluate product profitability
Strategic thinker with a bias for action and measurable impact
Collaborative leader who builds trust across cross‑functional teams
Customer‑centric mindset with strong communication and influencing skills
Data‑driven decision‑maker who thrives in a fast‑paced, innovative environment
