The Business Development Specialist is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with customers and commercial management for tolling services. The business development specialist reports to the manufacturing commercial manager with a dotted line to the plant manager. Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop strong customer relationships at multiple levels and understanding of their product and business strategy. Understand the customers’ values and imperatives, such as safety, sustainability, or community; communicate and align as appropriate. - Take the lead in hosting customers for customer onsite visits. - Represent Aprilia & other Gowan manufacturing sites at tradeshow events. - Manage commercial pricing in collaboration with the plant manager. - Collaborate with supply chain team with sourcing support for third party opportunities. - Hold annual pricing reviews. - Work closely with finance to understand the cost of operations to ensure effective pricing. - Identify opportunities for additional business in the ongoing facilities or partnerships for expansion. - Work with Manufacturing Commercial Manager in building business cases for new projects. - Maintain deep understanding of current contracts in place and ensure proper contract management. - Maintain deep knowledge about emerging trends in formulation technologies, how demand may change for various processes and recommend the path for Gowan Aprilia. - Understand capabilities of Gowan manufacturing sites to represent the entities effectively. Qualifications Required: - A strong technical foundation and broad understanding of crop protection and/or plant health products. - Knowledge of chemical manufacturing and formulations. - Excellent communication abilities internally and with the external network. - Creative/Critical thinking skillset. - Bachelor’s degree in related field. Travel Required: - This position is mostly on-site in Aprilia, Italy with approximately 25% travel required.
