Team Overview and Job Responsibilities
The Tax Specialist will be part of the Italy Tax department within the Finance Control and Accounting team and will perform tax compliance for both direct and indirect taxes for all Italian Legal Entities. The Tax Specialist will report directly to the Finance Control and Accounting Director for Italy and cooperate with the Europe Group Tax Director regarding litigations with Italian Tax Authorities.
The Candidate's Focus Will Be On
* Performing and controlling all Tax Compliance activities (tax computation, tax returns, payments, etc.) for all Italian legal entities to ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation, while identifying opportunities and minimizing tax risks;
* Managing activities related to tax inspections, tax questionnaires, and other interactions with tax authorities, collaborating with Group Tax to define appropriate strategies, including involving tax consultants when necessary;
* Analyzing new Italian tax legislation and interpretations, assessing their impact on the Group, quantifying effects, involving relevant functions (including IT), and implementing necessary solutions;
* Supporting Business Functions in analyzing relevant tax aspects of business decisions to reduce and mitigate tax risks;
* Determining tax accruals for interim financial statements and participating in forecast and budget processes, providing timely updates on tax issues and sharing analysis in line with best risk management practices;
* Performing balance sheet account reconciliation related to taxes;
* Finalizing statutory reporting using specific software in cooperation with the Finance Control and Accounting team;
* Supporting the team with tax and accounting matters;
* Participating in projects involving the company, such as mergers, contributions in kind, and acquisitions.
Key Requirements
* Fluent in English
* At least 2 years of experience in tax, either in consultancy or within a multinational company's tax department
* Accounting and tax expertise
* Innovative and digital mindset
* Strong reporting and data analysis skills
* Organized with the ability to manage priorities
