Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for an assigned number of patients. Patient assignments are determined by census and staffing levels, reviewed on a shift-to-shift basis. The nurse may be assigned up to 40 hours per week, rotating between day and night shifts based on unit and staff needs. The nurse is expected to work within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations, and assist with orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel on the unit. Responsibilities include documenting care, maintaining patient charts, and ensuring accurate entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system. Candidates must pass a pharmacology test for this position. Attendance at yearly mandatory education sessions is required. The RN will work under the supervision of the Ambulance Department Head, following the Pre-Hospital and ACLS processes. Additional Details
