About the Position
We are looking for an EMEA Indirect Commodity Specialist for OPEX Categories (Energy, Functional Services and Facility Management) to join the Indirect Commodity team, reporting directly to the EMEA Indirect Commodity Manager. This position is based at our office in Italy (preferably Bologna or Venaria). In this role you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement of specific commodities within the region, ensuring cost‑effective sourcing, supplier performance and strategic alignment with global procurement goals. The specialist will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive value, mitigate risks and support operational excellence.
Responsibilities
* Commodity Strategy Development: Develop and implement regional commodity strategies aligned with global objectives, market trends, and business needs.
* Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews.
* Cost Optimization: Lead cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, value engineering, and alternative sourcing strategies.
* Market Intelligence: Monitor market dynamics, pricing trends, and supply risks for assigned commodities. Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
* Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
* Cross‑functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, quality, logistics, and finance teams to support product development, production, and continuous improvement.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, environmental, and economic factors.
* Reporting & Analytics: Maintain accurate records of commodity performance, savings, and supplier metrics. Prepare regular reports for management.
* DOA: Approve within delegation limits the process of the Supplier Bid List / nomination approval, supporting the Buyer and PBS to emit the PO.
Qualifications
* Education: Economics or Engineering Degree, with specialization in Supply Chain a plus.
* Languages: Fluency in English; additional language preferred.
* Experience: 3 years in an international purchasing or logistics organization, preferably in the automotive sector. Consolidated experience in purchasing indirect logistics or supply chain management is mandatory.
* Travel and Driving Licence Required.
* Other skills: Functional expertise of SAP and/or JAGGAER is a plus.
Expectations from you
* Good knowledge of MS Office suites, with expert knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
* Ability to work effectively within a global matrixed organization as a trusted member of a multicultural team across multiple locations and countries.
* Problem‑solving and analysis techniques, good communication skills (presentation, written, verbal). Commercial and technical negotiation skills, mediation, relationship building, and conflict management.
