Within the Human Resources Department, the Payroll Team Leader is responsible for coordinating and supervising the payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational continuity.
The role acts as both the technical and organizational reference point for payroll activities, overseeing the full payroll cycle and supporting the HR leadership team in managing workforce administration processes in line with company policies and applicable labour regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, coach, and supervise the Payroll team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
* Oversee and manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Ensure correct application of Italian labour law, CCNL regulations, and internal company policies.
* Act as the primary point of contact with labour consultants and external payroll providers.
* Manage audits, inspections, and internal corporate requests related to payroll and personnel administration.
* Support the HR Director with workforce cost analysis, simulations, and HR reporting.
* Drive process improvement initiatives and promote the adoption of standardized payroll procedures.
* Provide support and guidance to managers on complex personnel administration matters.
* 5–8 years of experience in payroll management, including at least 2 years in a coordination or team leadership role.
* Advanced knowledge of CCNL Metalmeccanico and Italian labour regulations.
* Strong proficiency with payroll systems, preferably Zucchetti.
* Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory and contractual frameworks.
* Experience interacting with external consultants and payroll providers.
* Experience in international or multinational companies.
* Exposure to HR reporting and workforce cost analysis.
* Experience in process optimization and payroll automation initiatives.
