Position OverviewAs Welding Engineer, you will respond to Offshore Pipeline Welding Management and be part of the Asset Based Services Business Line within the PIPWE department/Pipeline Technology scope, supporting the Offshore Pipeline Welding team.Responsibilities Provide welding support to all engineering disciplines to comply with contractual requirements and with updated technical criteria.Evaluate client/end user tender documents and requirements relevant to metallic materials and associated fabrication processes.Prepare and issue preliminary welding documents for assigned project or bids.Prepare/update welding general specifications and standards, PMI specifications, technical specifications for special metallic materials and welding consumables, NDT table for piping/pipeline construction welds.Review welding documents (WPS/PQR), welding repair, and heat treatment procedures issued by manufacturer/vendor and prepare welding qualification matrices and pWPS for piping/pipeline direct hiring construction welds.Define and witness welding trial tests for special materials.Manage the welding qualifications phase of a project through supervision of a nominated subcontractor or direct hiring, providing required technical support and liaising with personnel on‐site up to the emission of the welding book.Participate in welding procedure qualifications at our Pipeline Technologies Center located in Ploiesti – Romania.Ensure readiness of welding equipment on vessels/yards prior to the start of installation/production.Participate in welder qualifications onboard vessels or on site.Follow up KPIs, analyze and explain any deviations.Liaise with independent research bodies (e.g., TWI, EWI, IIS) to develop applications of new metallic materials, technologies, and tests.Review journals and technical papers for new welding technology. Maintain contact with welding equipment suppliers and consumable vendors to promote advances in welding technology.
Requirements
Education: Master's Degree in Mechanical, Chimical, Materials Engineering.Experience: 3–5 years' experience as a Welding Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry.Languages: English minimum B1.Technical Skills: International Welding Engineer (IWE) certificate is appreciated.IT Skills: Good skills in using the main computer software programs.
