Job Description The Project Manager (PJM) is responsible for the successful execution of assigned customer and/or R&D projects. Success is measured by customer satisfaction, adherence to budget, delivery quality, and timeline. The PJM represents AVL externally, playing a key role in Customer Relationship Management during project execution. Manage assigned projects according to the project process, ensuring achievement of technical, cost, quality, and time targets, along with customer satisfaction. Act as the day-to-day contact for the customer. Support cross-line organization cooperation to maximize synergies for AVL and the customer. Assist the Sales Team during the offer phase by establishing project structure, timeline, risk assessment, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Oversee project initialization and planning, emphasizing cross-location organization and customer interface. Serve as the primary contact to the customer and ensure effective communication during project execution. Execute projects following the project process, managing local project teams and monitoring cross-location deliveries via PJM_L. Continuously monitor and control project execution to maintain or exceed customer satisfaction, budget adherence, delivery quality, and timeline. Report project status to POM or L-POM regarding progress, resources, and issues. Provide regular project updates to AVL stakeholders and the customer. Lead project wrap-up, gather customer feedback, and evaluate performance. Lead the project team using modern leadership techniques such as coaching, motivation, and team building. Conduct Lessons Learned sessions during project execution and share insights organization-wide. Manage overall budget control, including reserves and expenditure limits. Form project teams in collaboration with Skill Team Leaders based on resource needs. Coordinate with Skill Team Leaders on technical direction. Exercise veto rights via POM on work split decisions for cross-location project efficiency. Follow escalation procedures as per the project process. Ensure effective hand-over from KAM. Provide technical approval for quality gates according to AVL release procedures. Profile Description Graduate from a secondary technical college, university of applied sciences, or university of technology. Professional experience in the aerospace & defense industry or related fields. Strong interest and knowledge in aerospace & defense sectors. Ability to manage complex technical and social topics. Intercultural and leadership skills. Self-managed and organized work approach. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a cooperative attitude. Responsibility, self-organization, and goal-oriented mindset. Good presentation and diplomatic skills. Entrepreneurial thinking. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
