Overview Procurement / Subcontractor Manager To strengthen our Procurement team, we are looking for a Procurement / Subcontractor Manager who will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of key subcontracted equipment and subsystems in our projects. Job location Milano, Roma and Torino. Responsibilities Act as the main interface with suppliers, from bid phase to final delivery, managing and maintaining the relationship with subcontractors as main point of contact Manage the full subcontracting process: RFQs, supplier selection, contract negotiation, purchase orders, expediting, delivery, and acceptance Subcontractors Sourcing and Identification RFI/RFP Preparation and Coordination (including ESA Best Practices process) Writing the Statement of Work and coordinating the preparation of the relevant data packages (e.g. Specification, general supporting docs, etc…) of the items to be procured Supporting the contract officer in the contract preparation for what concerns the programmatic part Leading and coordinating the subcontractors’ proposals evaluation based on defined selection criteria Leading and coordinating the Supplier Activities and Contract Negotiation following the project manager guidelines and targets Ensure on-time, on-cost and on-quality delivery of critical equipment and subsystems Work closely with Engineering, MAIT, and Quality to monitor performance and resolve technical or contractual issues Identification and proposal of cost reduction and improvement opportunities Identification and management of Subcontractor project risks Preparation and coordination, as chairman, of meetings, reviews and workshops Parallel coordination of the procurement activities for multi-projects Contract change management and negotiation Contribute to supplier/subcontractors’ evaluation, performance monitoring, and lessons learned Qualifications Master’s degree (MSc) in Aerospace, Electronics, Telecommunications, Management, Mechanical or comparable qualifications 3–5 years’ experience in procurement, subcontracting or project supply chain, ideally in the space, aerospace, or defence sector Strong knowledge of contract management and negotiation Familiarity with ESA/ECSS and/or MIL-STD standards, Export Control regulations and experience of consulting for engineering, testing, product assurance and space project management is a plus Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus Availability to travel to suppliers in Europe and abroad Key Skills Project & contract management mindset Ability to manage complex supplier relationships Analytical thinking and problem-solving attitude Team player with strong communication and negotiation skills Resilient and result-oriented, able to work under tight deadlines.
