Business Intelligence Engineer, Fees Strategy
As a Business Intelligence Engineer II in the Fee Strategy organization, you'll be at the forefront of shaping how Amazon monetizes its 3P business globally, leveraging data as your superpower to drive fee frameworks that impact millions of Selling Partners on our platform! Dive into the world of marketplace economics where your analytical expertise will help establish fee structures, programs, and magnitudes that power Amazon's global 3P business. You'll uncover hidden patterns in seller behavior, estimate and measure the impact of fee changes, and drive strategic innovations that directly impact over 2MM+ active sellers worldwide. This work feeds into a long-term vision of building a closed-loop fee setting process that minimizes human judgment and maximizes data-driven decision-making. In this high-impact role, you'll collaborate with economists, scientists, SDEs, product managers, and business leaders to tackle fascinating challenges at the intersection of pricing strategy, financial modeling, and global commerce.
The Fee Strategy organization is where data meets real-world impact, every framework you build and every insight you generate directly influences fee programs across global stores, shaping seller economics, marketplace competitiveness, and Amazon's bottom line. Key job responsibilities
A. Data Analysis & Insights
* Uncover insights by analyzing massive datasets, identifying patterns that reveal opportunities to optimize fee structures and seller experiences
* Track and analyze business-critical metrics that reveal the performance of fee structures and incentive programs across international marketplaces
B. Business Partnership & Influence
* Partner with product managers, engineers, and key stakeholders to define business metrics
* Transform complex analytical discoveries into actionable business recommendations that drive measurable results
* Develop and deliver compelling data narratives that influence product strategy and decision-making
* Lead cross-functional collaborations that turn your analytical insights into tangible improvements
C. Technical Implementation & Innovation
* Architect sophisticated data pipelines that extract, transform, and deliver critical insights
* Build scalable, automated reporting solutions
* Pioneer the application of latest GenAI tools to unlock deeper insights and analytical capabilities
Basic Qualifications
* 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
* Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
* Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
* Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
* Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
* Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
