Job Title: Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator
Reports To: Senior Operations Manager
Schedule: Monday–Friday (8:00am–4:30pm)
Location: Venice, CA
Status: Full-Time, 40 hrs/wk, Non-Exempt
Cell Phone: Reimbursement for use
Driver Position: Yes (If yes, see driving policy below)
Salary Range: $23.00–$24.00/hr DOE Plus $1,000 signing bonus ($500 upon signing and $500 after completion of 90 days)

About the Role
Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, the Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator independently performs a wide range of facilities and maintenance repair and renovation work for SPY’s seven sites. Collaborate with the Operations team to perform repairs, installations and facilities support, transport and store items, make site purchases, coordinate with third-party vendors, conduct janitorial services as needed, and perform other related facilities and systems support functions as assigned.
Responsibilities
* Light construction work, repairs, and building upgrades
* Turning units in housing programs, including painting, cleaning, and replacing furniture
* General janitorial support such as maintaining restrooms, trash collection, clearing stoppages in toilets, sinks, and floor drains, and fixing/replacing soap dispensers, toilet seats, bathroom hardware, and water faucet washers
* Executing site installations such as fire extinguishers, bulletin boards, mailboxes, etc.
* Repairing/replacing window, door, and cabinetry hardware, and lighting fixtures
* Performing janitorial tasks including restroom maintenance, trash collection, sweeping and mopping
* Assembling furniture and office equipment; light building tasks as needed
* Driving SPY van to transport materials, drop off donations, remove site trash, make purchases, etc.
* Other duties as assigned to support the program and organization
Qualifications
What you’ll need
* High school diploma or GED required
* Bachelor’s Degree in Maintenance Engineering preferred
* 1–2 years of experience as a facilities/maintenance coordinator or similar role
* 1–2 years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, painting, carpentry and masonry
* Apprenticeship a plus
* Supervisory experience a plus
* Cultural responsiveness
* Ability to assess repairability and estimate material quantities and types
* Flexibility to accommodate a work schedule that may vary and include evenings/weekends
* Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, reach, sit, concentrate, and move moderately heavy to heavy loads; climb ladders
* Strong verbal communication skills
* May require lifting over 50 lbs with proper technique
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
* Office and outdoor environments
* Physical effort with occasional lifting up to 15–20 pounds
Special Conditions
* Mandated Reporting: This position is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083
* COVID-19 Vaccination: Proof of vaccination is required where applicable; booster proof may also be required. If not fully vaccinated, weekly testing may be necessary depending on program. Reasonable accommodations or exemptions can be requested via HR
* Driver Positions: Applicants must provide a driving record, valid license, and proof of insurance. Offers contingent on driving record. Driving is an essential job function
Note: All staff are introductory employees for the first three months and are at-will employees. SPY reserves the right to extend the introductory period and to modify duties as needed.
