About the RoleAn established Mediterranean shipyard specialising in yacht refit and maintenance is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex yacht refit projects.This role is responsible for managing refit projects from contract award through final delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Project Manager will act as the primary point of contact between the shipyard and key stakeholders including owners' representatives, yacht managers, captains, surveyors, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage yacht refit projects from planning through delivery
* Define project scope, schedules, budgets, and technical requirements
* Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors
* Monitor project timelines and shipyard production milestones
* Manage procurement of materials, marine equipment, and specialist services
* Oversee inspections, commissioning, testing, and sea trials
* Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, classification societies, and safety standards
* Manage project costs, change orders, and risk mitigation
* Conduct regular project progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders
* Provide project reporting and updates to senior management
Requirements
* 8–10+ years' experience in yacht refit, shipbuilding, or marine project management
* Strong understanding of marine systems, vessel construction, and shipyard operations
* Experience managing technically complex refit or shipyard projects
* Familiarity with classification society requirements and maritime regulations
* Strong stakeholder management skills working with owners' teams, captains, and subcontractors
* Experience using project planning tools such as MS Project or xpavfwm similar
* Fluent Italian and English
* Willingness to relocate
Preferred Experience
* Previous experience within a superyacht refit shipyard
* Experience managing large yacht refit periods or dry dock projects
* Strong understanding of shipyard production environments
