MO is building a best‑in‑class engineering and operations team that will own day‑to‑day operations for AWS Regions, improving availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency.Amazon is looking for highly motivated Senior Systems Engineers who can balance day‑to‑day operations of AWS’ software systems with long‑term software engineering to reduce operational toil. Engineers must enjoy constantly learning and diving deep into the wide range of systems and technologies that make up one of the world’s largest cloud providers.In this role you will support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS within the Utility Computing (UC) organization.Basic Qualifications
8+ years of relevant systems engineering or systems administration experience using operating systems, networking, and storage systems5+ years of Systems Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Enterprise Production experience in Windows / Linux or similar environments3+ years of experience operating in a 24/7 production environment3+ years of experience with a scripting language: Perl, Python, Ruby, PowerShell or similar languages
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline6+ years of networking experience6+ years’ experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environmentsDevelopment of systems automation in a scripting language: Perl, Python, Ruby, PowerShell or similar languagesExperience with Agile engineering practices (Scrum, continuous delivery, etc.)
