Railway Industry Operations Director
We seek a seasoned Operation Director to spearhead our production plant's growth and industrial evolution.
About the Position
* This critical role will oversee production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and safety functions to drive business growth and improve competitiveness.
* The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and have experience in managing complex production environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the plant meets all relevant technical and regulatory standards, including those related to the railway industry.
* Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and enhance production flexibility.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline production processes and improve overall efficiency.
Leadership and Team Development
* Lead production teams through a structured middle management layer, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting operational problem-solving and accountability.
* Cultivate relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
* Manage talent development, including training programs, succession planning, and career progression.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
* Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and increase productivity.
* Explore opportunities for digital transformation, such as predictive maintenance and data analytics, to enhance production capabilities.
* Oversee capital expenditure projects, including equipment upgrades and new production lines.
Candidate Requirements
* At least 10 years of experience in increasingly senior operational roles within the rail, aerospace, or similar regulated sectors.
* Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Management) or equivalent; MBA or postgraduate degree in operations preferred.
* Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits
* Gross Annual Salary: €120,000 – €140,000
* Variable Bonus: Based on MBO (Management by Objectives)
