Position : Non-Tenured Assistant Professor of General Sociology Ca’ Foscari seeks a candidate capable of inspiring students to become impactful in their fields and contribute meaningfully to society. The successful researcher will conduct research and teach in areas including welfare systems, care policies from a European comparative perspective, social research methodologies (especially qualitative and mixed methods), micro and macro sociological processes, health and illness indicators, and policy design, implementation, and evaluation, with an emphasis on care policies. The researcher will join the Ca’ Foscari team working on the Horizon Europe project LeTs-Care – Learning from Long-Term Care practices of the European Care Strategy. This project combines ethnographic approaches with territorial indicators and fuzzy-set / qualitative analysis to deepen understanding of LTC challenges across 7 European countries. It aims to develop new reflexive approaches to policy learning and practical tools, involving a strong partnership with academic institutions and LTC stakeholders. Teaching responsibilities include up to 60 hours at BA and MA levels, covering general sociology, social research methodology, welfare systems, and social policies. This position is based at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, which aims to equip students with interpretive, critical, analytical, and communication skills to navigate 21st-century complexities.
