For our Milan offices we are searching for a
BI Manager | Carriers and Corporate
to join our BI team. The BI Manager | Carriers and Corporate will be the primary analytical partner to corporate functions and senior leadership, translating complex data into strategic insight to support decision-making across the Fortidia network. The role combines a strategic mindset with strong analytical capabilities, with focus on Global Carriers performance and rate positioning, and corporate KPI governance. The BI Manager will directly manage one BI Analyst.
The BI Manager will report to the Data and Carriers Relationships Director.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
* Global Carriers Analysis: Own the analytical coverage of Global Carriers performance, including volume, cost, margin, and service level analysis. Build models to support carrier negotiations, rate benchmarking, and strategic evaluation of carrier relationships at global level, leveraging AI and automation to improve efficiency and scalability of recurring analyses.
* Corporate Analysis: Deliver ad hoc analysis for top management—covering among the others Network, Shipping and Franchise Development areas—to provide timely, actionable insights into core business dynamics and support sustained growth.
* Team Leadership: Directly manage and mentor one BI Analyst, providing technical guidance, structuring analytical work, and ensuring high-quality, rigorous output.
* Strategic Advisory: Provide senior management with rigorous quantitative analysis and scenario modelling to support Global Carriers negotiations and selected corporate strategic initiatives. Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for executive audiences.
* Reporting and Dashboarding: Partner with the Data & Reporting team and the Regional BI team to ensure the delivery of advanced dashboards to monitor Global Carriers performance and Business and Corporate KPIs on a recurring basis; coordinate with the development team on implementation roadmap and delivery priorities.
* Pricing & Profitability monitoring: Develop and maintain analytical models for carrier cost analysis, rate comparisons, and profitability optimization across the Network. Support data-driven pricing decisions through rigorous quantitative analysis, partnering with the Pricing & Revenue Management team.
Requirements
* Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in strategic consulting, corporate finance or Business Intelligence/Data Analytics. Experience in logistics, e-commerce, and prior experience managing at least one direct report is valued.
* Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science. A quantitative academic background is essential.
* Analytical & Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong ability to frame complex business problems, design the appropriate analytical approach, and deliver rigorous, actionable conclusions from large and heterogeneous datasets.
* Leadership Skills: Ability to guide and develop a junior analyst, providing technical mentoring and structured feedback. Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
* Technical Proficiency: Solid knowledge of SQL and MS Excel; expert-level command of BI visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, PowerBI, or Google Looker Studio). Familiarity with data engineering workflows and ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications for development teams. Knowledge of Python or R and exposure to cloud data environments are a plus.
* Communication: Ability to communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and structured way to both technical and non-technical audiences. Prior international exposure is valued.
* Attitude: Collaborative spirit, with appreciation of diverse perspectives. Bold, passionate, tenacious and curious mindset, not afraid to explore new ideas and challenge the status quo in pursuit of better solutions
* Languages: Excellent mastery of written and spoken English; proficiency in Spanish, French, or German is a significant advantage.
