In this role, the incumbent will implement, evaluate, and monitor all activities to minimize risk or hazard to safety, health, security, or the environment for NALCO Italiana Manufacturing’s operations in the Nichelino Plant. The job holder will ensure compliance with local legislation, relevant notifications, safety report standards, and the formulation of supporting documentation, emergency response planning, and organization. Main Responsibilities Ensure legal compliance relevant to all applicable national regulations. Manage communications and interactions with the company and external bodies. Promote the Ecolab Goal Zero safety culture and establish strategies to ensure a safe working environment at all times. Implement Ecolab SHE global strategies, Life Critical Policies (LCP), and initiatives relevant to the site. Develop and communicate these to engage and motivate staff in all aspects of policy and procedure application. Minimize SHE risk within the location by working with functional teams to reduce risks in operational activities through development of SHE standards, operating procedures, and assessments. Develop and maintain risk assessments; identify activities and analyze operational environmental aspects and impacts. Develop and implement a continuous improvement strategy for SHE, ensuring employee engagement and participation. Develop, implement, and maintain SHE systems relevant to ISO9001 standards. Conduct accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, monitoring, and tracking of corrective and preventive actions. Ensure policies and strategies are in place to achieve location and regional SHE annual goals and objectives. Lead and support initiatives as necessary and report on progress. Provide advice and support to all staff to achieve and maintain SHE objectives and standards. Promote SHE initiatives, improvements, developments, and programs continually. Establish and revise SHE procedures and guidelines, periodically reviewing existing procedures. Implement industry best practices, systems, and standards as relevant. Develop and deliver SHE training programs to all staff within the site and wider business as relevant. Build close working relationships and share knowledge with SHE personnel and management in the wider Nalco Champion and Ecolab communities. Support all functions on the Nichelino site regarding SHE and other relevant areas. Demonstrate a personal commitment to Safety, Health, and Environment through daily activities. Qualifications And Experience Bachelor or higher degree in Safety or Environmental Engineering or related fields such as Chemical or Process Engineering. Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate. Practical experience or well-developed understanding of operating within a COMAH regulated site, preferably in a processing environment. Strong team orientation, self-motivated, and highly driven. Flexible and proactive approach to providing SHE support at all staff levels and locations within the Eastern Hemisphere business unit. Relevant experience in similar SHE roles. Extensive knowledge of SHE practices, standards, legislation, and regulatory requirements. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Office-based role with occasional off-site audits.
