Experteer Overview
In this role you join the R&D center IT to maintain and improve low‑voltage electronic devices and protection components. You’ll work in a cross‑functional team with mechanical, electrical, and firmware designers to prototype, validate, and optimize products for production. The position sits in an international environment with a focus on robustness, cost reduction, and timely delivery. You contribute to product care, BOM management, and supplier coordination, shaping solutions for smart building technology at ABB.
Retribuzione / Benefits
- Participate in cross‑functional improvement teams for electronic/low‑voltage products and maintenance topics (robustness, shortages, cost reduction)
- Propose and discuss product changes with hardware and firmware teams, focusing on prototyping and validation with Lab and Quality
- Evaluate production/Quality/Engineering requests and propose appropriate product modifications
- Prepare technical reports with design calculations, simulations, and test lab data
- Coordinate prototype builds, plan experiments, and ensure alignment with project timelines
- Manage Bills of Materials (SAP/WindChill) and coordinate external supplier tasks with clear specs and timelines
Responsabilità
- Master’s Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering
- 2–3 years’ experience in design and maintenance of electronic devices (preferred)
- Proficient in Italian and English (written and spoken)
- Strong task ownership and communication skills
- Experience with DevOps and/or Jira for task management
- Experience with SAP and/or WindChill for BOM management
- Solid lab skills and familiarity with test and measurement environments
- Knowledge of Altium, Minitab, and communication protocols (WiFi, Modbus, M‑Bus)
- Experience with lean sigma approach
- Willingness to travel ~20% (Italy/Europe)
