A leading international renewable energy developer with a strong presence in Europe and the Americas is expanding its operations in Italy. The company develops utility‐scale photovoltaic, onshore wind, and battery storage projects and is strengthening its Rome‐based team to support its growing Italian portfolio.
The Junior Legal Counsel will support the Senior Legal Counsel in providing legal guidance across all project development activities. The role involves advising on contracts, regulatory compliance, permitting, and corporate matters, ensuring alignment with Italian and EU legislation in the renewable energy sector.
Responsibilities:
* Provide support throughout permitting and project development phases, including land acquisition and key authorizations (VIA/AIA, AU, construction permits).
* Carry out legal research across civil, commercial, real‐estate, environmental, and energy law applicable to renewable energy developments.
* Prepare, analyze, and negotiate a wide range of real‐estate and commercial contracts such as surface rights, lease and purchase agreements, NDAs, EPC, O&M, PPAs, and procurement documents.
* Contribute to due diligence activities for project acquisitions and financing transactions.
* Track contractual milestones and assist with ongoing contract administration and deal with internal and external stakeholders: internal departments, external consultants, public authorities, and notaries to address legal matters.
* Assist in managing early‐stage disputes and pre‐litigation issues as well as support in drafting board resolutions, managing filings, and maintaining compliance records.
Requirements:
* Law degree from an Italian university and qualification as a lawyer (or completion of legal traineeship), with 2–3 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
* Solid understanding of Italian regulations on renewable energy and environmental permitting (VIA, PAS, AU), along with strong legal drafting, analytical, and research capabilities.
* Fluency in Italian and English (C1), ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem‐solving.
