Your role As a Metal Development Researcher you will work in a dynamic and diverse environment, undertaking development projects in synergy with internal facilities and 3rd party collaborators. The development of new alloys and performance materials requires a strong background in metallurgy, post processing and mechanical characterisation of materials. You will work with a broad portfolio of forming and post processing technologies, requiring strong critical thinking and an attitude to proactively finding solutions. Main responsibilities
Project management on a broad portfolio of development areas:
Metallurgy: development of new alloys for frames and components (ideation – scouting – testing – validation). Process innovation: development of new processing methods to enable coupling, assembling and finishing of frames and components. Performance materials – Composites: development of innovative composite materials for frames and components. Metal additive manufacturing: management of MAP facility and new developments for metal additive manufacturing.
Reporting: you will be responsible to track development progress, produce technical reports for technology
