Help Shape the Future of Predictive Maintenance & AI-Driven Mobility
Schindler is transforming urban mobility through smart, connected solutions that enhance reliability and efficiency. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and AI components for predictive analytics, optimization, anomaly detection, intelligent documentation systems, and automation of diagnostic processes. You will work hands-on across data preparation, modeling, evaluation, and integration into operational workflows, ensuring scalability and reliability in complex environments.
Why Schindler?
* Shape the Future: Contribute to next-generation predictive maintenance solutions that reduce downtime and improve safety.
* Global Impact: Your work will be deployed in real-world operations, impacting millions of passengers worldwide.
* Collaborate with Experts: Join a global, multidisciplinary team in AI, IoT, engineering, and operations.
* Continuous Learning: Explore and implement the latest technologies and best practices in data science, optimization, and MLOps.
Your Responsibilities
* Prepare and analyze datasets (including time-series and event data) for predictive modeling and anomaly detection.
* Build and validate models for reliability estimation and failure prediction; define evaluation protocols and monitoring (data/model drift).
* Develop optimization algorithms and reinforcement learning prototypes for resource allocation and scheduling.
* Transform rules-based workflows into AI-driven components and agents for automated decision-making.
* Ensure high-quality ML pipelines with automated testing and CI/CD integration.
* Support deployment workflows, model monitoring, and data-drift alerts in cloud/containerized environments.
* Utilize pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Kubeflow) for scalable workflows and experiment tracking.
* Apply best practices in software versioning (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket) and code management.
* Collaborate in Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban) for iterative delivery; contribute to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and stakeholder alignment.
* Mentor junior team members and align with technical standards (for senior profiles).
What You Bring
* Experience: 5+ years delivering AI solutions end-to-end; more junior candidates (1–3 years in data science or ML projects) will be considered.
* Strong programming in Python; proficiency with ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
* Solid understanding/expertise in predictive modeling, anomaly detection, feature engineering, and optimization; familiarity with reinforcement learning concepts.
* Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative development platforms.
* Familiarity with containerization and cloud environments; knowledge of MLOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
* Agile mindset and experience with tools like Jira or Confluence.
* Ability to mentor and influence cross-functional teams (senior profiles).
Qualifications That Will Strengthen Your Profile
* Exposure to IoT data environments (device telemetry, events).
* Experience with explainability methodologies (SHAP, LIME) and knowledge graphs.
* Experience in designing scalable AI architectures and setting technical standards; ability to influence stakeholders.
