Overview The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon ensures vital machinery runs reliably. As an RME Technician, you’ll maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices, helping to keep colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. Our RME Technicians boost equipment availability and quality and work to improve the operational environment. Responsibilities Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness Uphold all health and safety policies and practices Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites Position Details Our RME Technicians are based on-site and respond quickly to machinery issues. You’ll perform planned preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely, respond to breakdowns, investigate solutions, and contribute ideas for long-term improvements. You’ll work alongside senior colleagues, liaise with contractors when external expertise is required, and support site operations across a range of shifts to enable 24/7 coverage. Team and Environment Our RME team keeps equipment performing at its best across Amazon’s global fulfilment network. We maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment, ensure buildings are legally compliant, and keep sites operating at maximum efficiency. There are opportunities for progression within the RME team and across Amazon. We focus on reducing downtime to support timely customer orders, including during early or late hours and night shifts. We may explore new processes or technologies such as Amazon Robotics and complex item sorters where applicable. Basic Qualifications Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject Relevant experience as a qualified engineer Relevant experience working in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing Preferred Qualifications Experience in condition-based monitoring Experience working with print and apply machines Experience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems Equal Opportunity and Privacy Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
