Role Overview
The Mechanical 3D/2D Designer will support engineering activities related to the design and detailing of mechanical components, assemblies, and supporting structures for steel plant equipment. The role involves creating and managing 3D models and 2D technical drawings in compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models and assemblies of mechanical components and equipment for steel production plants.
- Produce 2D technical drawings, including manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and installation layouts.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, project specifications, and internal guidelines.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and project teams to implement design solutions.
- Support design reviews and technical coordination meetings.
- Perform modifications and updates to models and drawings based on engineering changes.
- Ensure proper documentation management within the company PLM/PDM systems.
- Provide support to manufacturing and installation teams when clarification of drawings is required.
Nice to have
- Experience in steel plant equipment or heavy industrial plants.
- Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems.
- Understanding of GD&T; and mechanical tolerancing.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international project teams.
Work Experience
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in 3D and 2D mechanical design of industrial machinery or heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software (e.g., Inventor, or similar).
- Experience with large assemblies and complex mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and mechanical components (welded structures, machined parts, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
