The Thematic Team, created in 2021, advances WFP’s climate, resilience, social protection, and nutrition portfolios through strategic fundraising for development activities, which differs from humanitarian fundraising. /ppbORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT /b /ppWFP seeks to fill the position of Government Partnerships Officer for Social Protection, based at Headquarters in Rome, Italy. /ppbJOB PURPOSE /b /ppWFP relies on voluntary contributions to fund projects. Building relationships with public sector partners is vital for supporting projects that impact millions globally. /ppFundraising for development partners, especially in social protection, is increasing following WFP’s Strategic Plan approval. This requires targeted, cross-departmental strategies and expertise in social protection financing. /ppbKEY RESPONSIBILITIES : /b /pulliImplement a government donor engagement work plan on social protection, fostering partnerships aligned with WFP’s strategic goals, including organizing discussions, events, and publications. /liliPosition WFP’s value proposition with partners, develop tailored engagement materials, and support internal coordination for partner engagement. /liliGuide units and offices on partnership strategies, proposal writing, and best practices; update programming portfolios and funding needs. /liliMaintain up-to-date donor intelligence on social protection and promote organizational use of key information systems. /liliCoordinate the Social Protection Trust Fund, managing donor relations and reporting. /liliManage the social protection partnerships portfolio, including partner profiling, data analysis, and outreach planning to maximize opportunities. /liliSupport corporate dialogue through high-level consultations, highlighting strategic opportunities and presenting recommendations to senior management. /liliAssist in designing partnership proposals, negotiations, and agreements, ensuring partner visibility and compliance. /liliSupport positioning of social protection portfolios with governments and institutions, sharing insights and advising on engagement strategies. /liliPerform other duties as required. /li /ulpbQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE : /b /ppbEducation : /b Advanced degree in International Development, Economics, International Relations, Social Protection, or related fields. /ppuExperience : /u At least 8 years in partnership roles. /ppbKnowledge and Skills : /b /pulliExpertise in social protection policy, financing, and programming. /liliUnderstanding of government and organizational strategies, policy formulation, and influence levels. /liliExperience in developing multi-stakeholder partnerships and organizing advocacy events. /liliProven ability to build long-term relationships and expand engagements across sectors and geographies. /liliExperience in resource mobilization, negotiations, and advising on resource strategies. /liliData-driven decision-making skills and external messaging development. /liliContributions to system improvements and partner intelligence platforms. /li /ulpbLanguages : /b Fluency in English (Level C); knowledge of Spanish, French, or Arabic is a strong asset. /ppbTerms and Conditions /b /ppWFP offers a competitive package, determined by contract type and qualifications.
