MSC Technology Italy is seeking an IT Project Manager with solid experience in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to lead international implementation and roll-out projects within the transportation and logistics domain.
The role will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-country TMS initiatives, acting as the key coordination point between IT, business stakeholders, and external partners.
Role and Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end TMS implementation and transformation projects from initiation to go-live and stabilization.
* Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with business and IT stakeholders.
* Coordinate cross-functional and cross-country teams, including IT, operations, and external vendors.
* Manage project plans, risks, dependencies, and issues, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
* Ensure alignment with corporate standards, governance models, and best practices.
* Oversee system configuration, integrations, data migration, and testing activities related to TMS solutions.
* Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and go-live activities.
* Ensure effective communication, reporting, and escalation toward key stakeholders and project sponsors.
* Drive process standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement within transportation and distribution processes.
* Support change management, training, and post go-live support activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
* At least 4–6 years of experience in IT project management roles within logistics or supply chain environments.
* Proven experience delivering Transportation Management System (TMS) projects, preferably in international or multi-site contexts.
* Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics processes (e.g. inbound/outbound transportation, carrier management, freight costing, planning and execution).
* Solid understanding of IT systems, integrations, and data flows within the supply chain ecosystem.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage complex initiatives involving multiple teams and external vendors.
* Excellent command of English (C1 level), both written and spoken.
Nice to have
* Project Management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar).
* Experience in global transformation or digitalization programs.
* Familiarity with Agile, Hybrid, or Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
* Experience working within a Center of Excellence or global governance model.
