Due to continued growth within the global service team, we have an exciting vacancy for a Field Service Engineer in North Italy.
Responsibilities
* Work on a stand‑alone basis, maintain team spirit and share knowledge with colleagues.
* Having full responsibility, within a territory, to deliver world class service to our customers.
* Install, maintain, and use expert troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues on a variety of roundness and surface finish measuring instruments.
* Provide remote call pre‑qualification and attempt remote fix wherever possible.
* Be the focal point for customer issues and technical enquiries.
* Document and report technical issues where necessary.
* Provide training as required to customers and local distributors.
* Look for opportunities and report wherever possible.
Essential & Desirable Skills
* Have a good grounding in mechanical/electronic or multi‑disciplined engineering.
* Ability to read, interpret and analyse schematics, assembly drawings and wiring diagrams.
* Ideally, previous experience of working in a technical customer‑facing role; recent graduates are welcome to apply.
* Interact with and provide feedback to internal stakeholders including technical support teams, manufacturing, and R&D.
* Build trust relationships with our customers.
* Have good computer skills including Microsoft Office.
* Hold a valid & clean driving license.
* Can work alone while representing Taylor Hobson at customer sites.
* Be prepared to work flexible hours when required.
* Be prepared to assist colleagues in other regions of the world when required.
Skills & Experience
* High energy level with ability to take initiative.
* Experience within a matrix management environment.
* Teamwork oriented with collaborative style, pragmatic, multitasking, flexible.
* Computer fluent, with specific attention to e‑mail and Microsoft Office product skills; CRM and service tools.
* Good communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact effectively.
* Follow set procedures but can identify when change is required.
Requirements
* Mechanical/electrical or electronic service expert.
* Proven experience in high demand B2B customer service.
* Based in the following regions: Lombardia, Piemonte or Emilia Romagna.
* English: good communication skills, written and spoken.
* Strong customer service attitude with a critical mindset.
* Good planning and organisational skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, self‑motivated and a team player.
