The Role: This is a key global role, where you will own the development and implementation of our global electronic manufacturing strategy defined by the Commodity Manager/Director in the field of Electronic Components and /or EMS. With support from the commodity team, select and manage Electronic Components distributors and / or EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) providers having full ownership of the procurement process of one or several programmes from C0 to D phase to develop our next generation of EE products. You are expected to run the negotiations around development programmes, manage the nomination and contracts, to ensure strict adherence to Programme targets (Quality, Cost, Delivery). Who you’ll be: To be successful in this position, you will have proven experience in: - Contribute to the technical product concept/specification offered to the customer. Participate in the program team from initial concept stage (Pre-RFQA) - Manage the communication between Programme team and Suppliers regarding Engineering Change requests. - Run Strategic Sourcing Review in conjunction with the commodity team to define potential supplier selection panel required to support the programme, taking into account supplier technology, geographical location, target costs. - Support contract & price negotiations, supplier changes and geographical expansion of contract manufacturers. - Monitor review and manage programme purchasing performance v target costs (parts, tools and prototypes) - Ensure necessary “stage gate” reviews are held within the programme management framework - Monitor and review quality during pilot programme phase - APQP status report - Maintain list of open points and take appropriate action to resolve - Ensure and track the implementation of corrective actions for any deviation - Assure a flawless launch, PPAP on time, ramp up information confirmed by suppliers. - Ensure the effective transfer of the program to the plant buyer - Prepare the Strategic Sourcing Reviews (SSR) during acquisition phase to pre-select key strategic suppliers and confirm targeted sourcing locations. - Support make vs buy investigations related to new programs. - Align costing methods to project priority level: full RFQ costing versus surrogate costing methodologies. - Work closely with internal Engineering, Design, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Financial personnel in order to compile, disseminate and make recommendations for cost and investment related information for direct materials. - Supports VA/VE activities to quantify/validate the benefit analysis and adopt in new programs, as appropriate. Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge and Skills Required - Diploma in Engineering or Business School, with a specialization in Electronics and in Purchasing or Supply Chain - Good knowledge and first experience in the field of electronic components and PCBA manufacturing is mandatory - Deep understanding of the electronic manufacturing services value chain. - At least 5 years of demonstrable work experience in sourcing electronic manufacturing (EMS) or as a client. - Experience as Program, Commodity or Plant Buyer in an industrial environment - Fluent in English, with an international mind set. - Ability to work in a matrix organisation. - Comfortable in independently sourcing, negotiating contracts and managing partnerships with EMS providers. Language Skills: Fluency in English is a must.
