Job Description Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer (M.E) will be responsible for defining, designing, and following the building of equipment to support the shop activities. This role will support shop floor personnel from a technical standpoint and drive productivity, manufacturability, and cost‐out improvements for the business. At the same time M.E. will work to develop procedures, work instructions, methods to support the production as well. Avenza Aero Alliance is a provider of LM2500/LM6000 (Aero derivative gas turbines) overhaul services.
Essential Responsibilities
* Provide technical support in the disassembly, repairs and assembly processes for the shop floor.
* Define, design, and follow the execution of equipment/devices/machines starting with drafting technical specifications through commissioning in the workshop. The M.E. will work strictly with: Lines leaders/shop leaders to satisfy their needs; EHS to comply with internal and regulatory requirements; Quality team to maintain high product quality; Lean team to develop lean‐aligned solutions; Finance department to define expenses and business cases; Product engineering department to understand the product; and Sourcing department to discuss requirements during the bid phase.
* Develop work instructions, methods, processes, and procedures to give detailed information to the shop (e.g., handling, lifting, assembly, and disassembly procedures), collaborating with ops and cross‐functional teams.
* Define hours to apply to the shop‐floor operation routings according to the tasks to perform.
* Lead analysis and perform metrics and KPIs to monitor shop‐floor performance in terms of efficiency and productivity (e.g., planned vs actual hours).
* Provide leadership and mentorship for the team to resolve shop‐floor improvement projects.
* Share best practices across the shop floor to ensure continuous process improvement and consistency.
* Understand and collect the shop departments' needs to create the investment plan.
* Track expenses for fixtures among departments to respect the year‐over‐year budget.
* Analyze service routings to define equipment, fixtures, and methods for shop‐floor activities.
* Purchase commercial equipment and devices to support production.
* Support process‐improvement initiatives (e.g., AWO, Committee) to reduce waste, cycle time, and improve EHS, quality, and ergonomics.
* Develop strong partnerships with internal and external teams for continuous process improvement.
* Partner with cross‐functional leaders to foster a culture focused on quality and safety.
* Hold self and team accountable to Aero Alliance's compliance and integrity standards.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college (or a high‐school diploma) or equivalent knowledge or work experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Excellent analytical skills.
* Proficient skills in PC, Microsoft Office, Excel, Access.
* Experience with CAD tooling, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
* Fluent in English and Italian.
* Solution‐oriented problem solver.
