Team Overview and Job Responsibilities
The Tax Specialist will be part of the Italy Tax department within the Finance Control and Accounting team and will perform tax compliance for both direct and indirect taxes for all Italian Legal Entities. The Tax Specialist will report directly to the Finance Control and Accounting Director for Italy and cooperate with the Europe Group Tax Director regarding litigations with Italian Tax Authorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform and control all tax compliance activities (tax computation, tax returns, payments, etc.) for all Italian legal entities, ensuring compliance with relevant tax legislation while minimizing tax risks.
* Manage activities related to tax inspections, tax questionnaires, and relationships with tax authorities, defining strategies in collaboration with Group Tax and involving tax consultants if needed.
* Analyze new Italian tax legislation and interpretations, assess tax impacts on the group, quantify impacts, involve relevant functions (including IT), and implement necessary solutions.
* Support business functions in analyzing relevant tax aspects of business decisions to reduce and mitigate tax risks.
* Determine tax accruals for interim financial statements and in forecast and budget processes, providing timely updates on tax issues and sharing decisions and analysis following best risk management practices.
* Perform balance sheet account reconciliations related to tax areas.
* Finalize statutory reporting in cooperation with the Finance Control and Accounting team using specific software.
* Support the finance team on tax and accounting aspects.
* Participate in projects involving the company, such as mergers, contributions in kind, and acquisitions, providing tax and accounting expertise.
Key Requirements
* Fluent in English.
* At least 2 years of experience in tax, audit consultancy, or a tax department within a multinational company.
* Accounting and tax expertise.
* Innovative and digital mindset.
* Strong reporting and data analysis skills.
* Organized with the ability to manage priorities.
