Innovation & Solution Excellence Lead – Oncology Business Unit
Location: GSK, Verona - Italy

Mission
Drive performance, strategic alignment and innovation across the entire Oncology Business Unit by leading the national Innovation & Healthcare Solutions capability, enabling field execution excellence, and ensuring the effective deployment of HQ strategies at local level. This role acts as a strategic connector between Franchise Leads, BUH, BI&A, Market Access, Medical, and the IHSM field teams—ensuring coordinated execution, data-driven decision making and impactful engagement with healthcare stakeholders. This position provides direct leadership to all Innovation & Healthcare Solution Managers (IHSMs) across the oncology portfolio
Key Responsibilities
Performance Leadership & Resource Optimization
* Provide national oversight of asset performance, working closely with BUH, BI&A, and Franchise Leads to identify systemic barriers and opportunities for growth.
* Define frameworks and priorities to guide IHSMs in focusing field efforts on high-value activities, optimizing resource allocation and driving operational excellence.
* Lead performance improvement initiatives across the BU, promoting a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
Innovation & Solution Excellence
* Act as the BU's catalyst for innovation, identifying, piloting and scaling solutions that enhance engagement, streamline execution and improve patient and HCP experience.
* Drive the development of innovative approaches in customer experience, omnichannel activation, digital tools, and value-based partnership models.
* Support IHSMs in tailoring HQ content to field needs, ensuring consistency, compliance, and customer-centricity across all channels.
* Define and coordinate the national cross-functional KOL engagement plan, ensuring clear prioritization and consistent activation across Regions.
Cross-Functional Governance & Strategic Planning
* Lead the national governance model for Strategic Account Management (SAM), ensuring that local strategies align with national priorities and brand plans
* Facilitate strong collaboration among Medical, Market Access, IHSMs and Franchise teams to ensure integrated planning and execution.
Field Capability Building & Team Leadership
* Develop solutions to fostering advanced marketing capability, customer insight generation, and innovative mindset.
* Ensure Field teams are equipped with the right tools, analytics, frameworks and training to execute effectively in the field.
* Provide feedback and strategic direction to ensure consistent excellence across all therapeutic areas.
Experience & Skills
Must Have
* 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical business, marketing or commercial excellence roles.
* Strong understanding of Oncology markets, Cx needs and field execution dynamics.
* Demonstrated ability to lead national initiatives, collaborate cross-functionally, and manage both HQ and field responsibilities.
* Experience in developing and deploying Cx engagement strategies, account management, or field marketing models.
* Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in using insights, data and BI tools to drive decisions.
* Proven leadership skills with experience coaching, developing and motivating field or hybrid teams.
Preferred qualifications
* Experience in multi-stakeholder management
* Experience with innovation frameworks, digital health solutions
* Prior leadership of hybrid HQ–Field roles or excellence/enablement functions.
Languages
* Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken)
