We were meant to fly. /p pThe Special Processes Engineer for Non Destructive Testing demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop penetrant testing that meet business needs across the organization, manage issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. You will develop the Non Distructive testing portion of the manufacturing process to achieve the required targets in terms of process robustness, product quality, product cost, capacity sustainment. /p h3bJob Description /b /h3 h3bEssential Responsibilities /b /h3 ul liDevelop and industrialize the Non Distructive testing process for aero-engine components, including the design of the manufacturing sequence and work instructions, the definition of process parameters and the selection of the appropriate equipment /li liDesign inspection methods, sampling plan and applicable process control methodologies, including applicable tests and coupon design /li liSupport the shop activities in the development phase of the process, by training the operators on the correct interpretation of the work instruction and tuning the process /li liGet input from the business in terms of a problem involving inadequate values of FTY, WIP, cost, lead time or machinery saturation of a stated product or product family /li liFollowing the steps of a Flight Deck approach, identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long range engineering needs /li liProvide technical guidance, direction, training and examination to engineers, specialists, technicians and shop operators according to the specs /li liConduct Non Distructive testing for the acceptance of parts and document the results /li liMaintain the internal process specifications updated to the latest standard and to the customer latest requirements /li liPerform internal / external audits to guarantee the surveillance on the accountable processes and verify Root Cause Corrective Action and implementation plans /li liBe accountable for the NADCAP audits on the specific processes /li liProvide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product center, supplier, or field issues /li liEffectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters /li liMaintain an active role in developing and defining the state of the art in own technical specialty in order to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution in meeting current and future business needs including adherence to schedules and estimated costs /li /ul h3bQualifications/Requirements /b /h3 ul liDegree in Engineering, Material Science or Physics, or High school Diploma with relevant work experience /li liNAS410/EN4179 level 3 certification or level 2 with strong experience on NDT (in particular, Ultrasonic Inspection and / or Eddy Current Inspection) /li liSignificant experience and knowledge on Non Distructive testing /li liFluency in English and Italian /li liAbility to communicate effectively and contribute to team projects /li liAbility to interface with customers for major issues /li liWork Visa in accordance with local regulation is required /li /ul h3bDesired Characteristics /b /h3 ul liStrong interpersonal and leadership skills /li liStrong oral and written communication skills /li liDemonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business /li liProblem analysis and resolution skills /li liDemonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in at least one technical specialty, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within this field /li liNADCAP experience on task group or as a supplier /li liExperience on all Non Distructive Testing methods and product manufacturing and inspection technologies used in aerospace /li /ul h3bWhat we offer /b /h3 h3bSmart working and work life-balance /b /h3 pAvio Aero, when possible, promotes remote work and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
