The Role
As a Cloud Operations Architect, you will help craft and execute strategies to drive our customers' adoption and use of AWS services - including EC2, S3, DynamoDB & RDS databases, Lambda, CloudFront CDN, IoT, and many more.
Your technical acumen and customer-facing skills will enable you to effectively represent AWS within a customer's environment, and drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management.
You will provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices, and proactively keep your customers' AWS environments operationally healthy.
The close relationships developed with your customers will allow you to understand their business/operational needs and technical challenges, and help them achieve the greatest value from AWS.
This position will require the ability to travel 10% or more as needed.

Key job responsibilities
You'll build solutions, provide technical guidance and advocate for the customerEnsure AWS environments remain operationally healthy whilst reducing cost and complexityDevelop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challengesUsing your technical acumen and customer obsession, you'll drive technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk managementConsult with a range of partners from developers through to C-suite executivesCollaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account ManagersWith a bias for action, you'll proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWSProvide detailed reviews of service disruptions, metrics, detailed pre-launch planningSolve a variety of problems across different customers as they migrate their workloads to the cloudUplift customer capabilities by running workshops, training sessions, etc.
You'll have plenty of opportunities to develop your technical, consulting and leadership skills.
You'll work with talented cloud technologists and expand your knowledge of AWS products.
You'll also have the chance to receive mentorship and gain AWS certifications.

A day in the life
The Cloud Operations Architect team exists to provide proactive world-class support to AWS Enterprise Support customers by building technical relationships with all levels within the customer, from engineers to C-level executives.
We enable the customer to focus on their mission rather than the undifferentiated heavy lifting.
We do this through delivering the Enterprise Support product which removes roadblocks to ensure the customer's mission success via the AWS platform.
About The Team
The Italian team is comprised of Cloud Operations Architects (TAMs) and Enterprise Support Managers (ESMs) who hail from various backgrounds.
We seek a diverse talent pool with different technical backgrounds, perspectives and experiences to shepherd our Enterprise Support customers through their cloud journey.
Our emphasis on serving customers and their specific needs allows tailoring the Enterprise Support product to best suit them.
Basic Qualifications
Fluency in Italian3+ years of technical engineering experienceExperience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for one (1) of the following: Compute / Storage / Networking / CDN / Databases / DevOps / Big Data and Analytics / Security / Applications Development in a distributed systems environmentBachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Math/related discipline required, OR 5 years of equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this roleMeets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role5+ years of technical engineering experienceExperience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for two (2) or more of the following: Compute / Storage / Networking / CDN / Databases / DevOps / Big Data and Analytics / Security / Applications Development in a distributed systems environmentExperience in Informational Technology operationsInternal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical leadProfessional oral and written communication skills, presenting to an audience containing one or more decision maker(s)Experience with cloud offerings
