Job Description: HSE Specialist
The HSE Specialist reports to the HSE Head of Department and is responsible for ensuring all activities comply with the MAIRE HSE Policy, regulations, standards, and procedures. The role involves promoting preventive and corrective actions to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the HSE Head of Department in defining policies, guidelines, roles, and responsibilities related to HSE.
* Implement, review, update, and audit the company's HSE systems.
* Monitor the application of safety and environmental procedures, updating them as per regulations and company directives.
* Foster awareness among personnel about the importance of safety procedures and equipment.
* Assist departments such as Commercial, Engineering, and Operations with health and safety issues.
* Conduct safety audits, participate in incident investigations, analyze incident data, and suggest improvements.
* Provide technical support and conduct safety training for management and staff.
* Perform risk assessments and participate in HSE meetings related to procurement and installation activities.
* Prepare health and safety documentation for tenders and support planning for contract start-ups.
* Stay updated on international standards and recommend changes based on lessons learned.
* Verify HSE plans for projects and report performance indicators to the HSE Head of Department.
* Collaborate with the Prevention and Protection Department (RSPP) and act as Lead Auditor during system inspections.
* Organize and participate in on-site training, meetings, and incident investigations.
* Coordinate the site HSE committee and emergency response team, including drills and mock activities.
* Maintain HSE statistics, monitor performance against objectives, and propose recovery plans if needed.
Skills and Abilities
* Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, with additional qualifications in HSE Management Systems.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in Health, Safety, and Environment.
* Knowledge of HSE Management Systems, Incident Investigation, and Auditing Techniques.
* Familiarity with ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 45001:2018 standards.
* Proficiency in English.
* Strong IT and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated with a focus on timely performance and problem-solving.
