Join our People Operations SEEMEA team and make a real impact on employee experience across Italy and beyond. As HR Generalist you'll be at the heart of our colleagues career journey—from onboarding to offboarding—while driving process improvements that set new standards for efficiency and excellence. In this role, you'll collaborate with HR Managers, optimize workflows, and ensure compliance, all while contributing to a dynamic and forward-thinking team.
This position is to be based in Lucca, Italy
Your responsibilities
* Create employee contracts and manage all steps of the hiring process, coordinating with different stakeholders, for a seamless onboarding experience
* Update and maintain employee data in Workday and related systems throughout the lifecycle
* Administer termination activities and ensure smooth, compliant offboarding
* Collaborate with managers and employees providing support in daily operations and address issues promptly and effectively
* Prepare, validate, and archive all documents related to people lifecycle management
* Execute in compliance with Valmet policies relevant guidelines and Italian labor law
* Participate in local /global projects, contributing to the implementation of new initiatives
Expectations for you
* Degree in HR, Business Administration or similar
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR or a related field
* Solid understanding of HR processes and activities
* Strong user-level skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Power BI).
* Proficiency in HR/HCM systems (e.g., Workday) and ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
* Full professional proficiency in English and Italian; other European languages are a plus
* Availability to travel approximately once or twice a month to other locations in Italy
