We are seeking an
Senior Controller
based in Milano.
As a member of the Business Controlling team, the candidate will be responsible for controlling activities and financial performance of the companies of the Central Southern Region with a primary focus on the French entity and other JVs.
The candidate will be in charge of understanding, analysing, and improving business processes and procedures related to sales, variable margin, cost structures, balance sheets across the assigned entities.
The role includes close collaboration with local finance teams and management, supporting the Finance department during monthly and year-end closing activities.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring Business Performance
Continuously analyse key financial and operational performance indicators (KPIs) for both variable and fixed costs, to assess and track progress towards predefined goals.
Compare actual results with budget and forecast figures, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
Budget Planning and Management
Collaborate with different departments and with the local finance team of the French subsidiary to prepare the annual budget and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and Group guidelines.
Monitor budget performance throughout the year and provide regular updates on the achievement of company targets.
Reporting
Prepare periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for management and develop new reporting tools to better monitor specific KPIs (e.g. sales effects, variable margin mix, personnel costs, distribution costs, maintenance).
Variance Analysis and Corrective Actions
Identify and analyse variances between actual and planned figures, investigating root causes in collaboration with French subsidiary's management and JVs' management.
Support the definition of corrective actions aimed at optimizing resources and improving operational efficiency.
Support in Strategic and Operational Decisions
Provide analytical support to management in assessing business performance, developing scenarios, and performing predictive analyses to support medium- and long-term strategic decisions.
Act as a key advisor in evaluating cost optimisation and cost reduction initiatives through detailed cost-agevolazioni analyses.
Implementation of Management Control Systems
Contribute to the implementation, optimisation, and maintenance of management control systems (Oracle PBCS, JD Edwards), ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across entities.
Promote a strong control culture within the organisation, raising awareness across departments and countries on cost management and financial discipline.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Economics with at least 5+ years of experience in Business Controlling, preferably in complex and international manufacturing environments
Proven experience in controlling and financial monitoring of foreign subsidiaries, preferably within a multinational context
Advanced PC skills with strong proficiency in Excel and data analytics (knowledge of Oracle PBCS is a plus)
Fluent English (written and spoken); good knowledge of French is required to interact effectively with the French subsidiary
Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and multicultural environment
As a member of the Business Controlling team, the candidate will be in charge for cost controlling activities
The candidate will be in charge for the understanding, the analysis and the improvement of the business processes and procedures related to costs
The candidate will support the Finance team with the monthly and the year-end closing activities
Availability to travel abroad 20% of the time (France)
