Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Job Description

As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our site operates in a safe and healthy environment for our employees and contractors.
The purpose of this position is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our people and to minimize impacts on the Environment (environmental footprint of operations & management of historical pollution). Protect Alstom assets and reduce risks of business interruption resulting from fire and natural catastrophes.
This role reports directly to the Site EHS Manager and requires close cooperation with internal resources to achieve EHS objectives. Key responsibilities include supporting the Site EHS Manager in performing EHS Risk Assessments, defining measures to control risks, and preparing, implementing, and maintaining emergency plans.
Key accountabilities:
* Cooperate with internal resources to achieve EHS objectives.
* Support the Site EHS Manager to perform EHS Risk Assessment and define appropriate measures to control risks.
* Support the Site EHS Manager to prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans.
* Assist Site EHS Manager to coordinate and control activities respecting EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operation areas.
* Provide support and advice to site personnel to prevent injury, damage to plant and equipment, fire, environmental pollution.
* Recognize best practices and good performance, reacting to violations of regulations and Alstom standards.
* Advise other site personnel on all aspects of EHS applicable to site activities.
EHS Compliance
This role also involves ensuring compliance of site activities according to the EHS Plan, guidelines, and work instructions. Perform EHS legal compliance checks for specific requirements.
Developing EHS Culture
Inform, instruct, and train employees to carry out work in a safe and environment-friendly mode according to the method of statement. Participate in the implementation of the site EHS training programs by providing EHS inductions and ensuring Tool Box meetings are organized.
Performance Measurements
Ideally suited for measuring progress towards EHS goals, key performance indicators include IFR 1 & IFR 2, Fatality/Severe Accidents, Health and Wellbeing (Occupational diseases, ergonomic).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have professional experience of approximately 2 years (can be adjusted depending on the size of the Site), along with experience of almost 2 years in Environment, Health & Safety.
Desirable skills and qualifications include good knowledge and understanding of ISO14001, ISO45001, Deep knowledge of local legal EHS requirements, Teamwork and leadership, Initiative and action-driven, Analytic thinking, rigorous mindset, Continuous Improvement tools.
