Manufacturing Supervisor
Join us at GE Vernova as a Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee daily production activities on the shop floor, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and on‑time delivery of manufactured goods. This role includes leading a team of production workers, managing schedules, optimizing workflows, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver products on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
* Supervise daily production operations and lead a team of production workers, supervisors, and technicians.
* Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to the team.
* Ensure team adherence to work instructions, company policies, and safety regulations.
* Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
* Maintain a positive and productive work environment.
* Manage production schedules to meet company goals and production targets.
* Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and inventory teams to ensure material availability.
* Monitor production processes and adjust schedules to maximize efficiency.
* Allocate resources (manpower, materials, machines) effectively.
* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime.
* Ensure proper operation of machinery and request maintenance when needed.
* Implement and manage Return of Experience (ROE) initiatives.
* Identify and flag key risks and ensure mitigation plans are recorded in the Risk & Opportunity register.
* Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, downtime, waste, and efficiency.
* Prepare and present production reports to senior management.
* Support Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
* Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Proven significant production or manufacturing experience with a leadership or supervisory role.
* Strong knowledge of production systems, quality control, and safety standards.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Experience with Lean or similar continuous improvement methodologies (a plus).
* ERP system experience (e.g., SAP).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Fluency in Italian and English.
* Perseverance and resilience.
