Marketplace Distri is a fast-growing operator and accelerator for established brands to grow their business on a European level through marketplaces, such as Amazon.
The company was launched in 2018 in the Netherlands, and since summer 2019 we have our office in Lucca. With a team of 20+ FTE (and growing quickly), we are building the company to the next level, this includes ambitious plans to set up offices globally and grow to 100+ FTE.
The company recently closed an investment round and now, to strengthen our future growth, we are in need of an experienced and entrepreneurial board member to join our young team of professionals in the combined role of CFO / COO with expertise in automation.
Tasks
As our CFO you are responsible for the financial health of the company. You create monthly and quarterly reports, manage working capital, optimize our international cashflows, supervise the finance department, and come up with suggestions that can accelerate growth and profitability.
As COO you focus on the internal organization of the company, so the CEO can focus on the external relations and business development. You are responsible for the annual business plan and budget. You will work together with Business Unit Directors to establish recruitment plans, priorities, and budgets.
The job includes providing strategic and operational direction, enabling the achievement of the organizational and growth objectives. You will be responsible for research and implementation of new levels of automation, to make sure we can reach operational excellence.
You will join the leadership team and shape the company towards its next phase.
Other activities
- Finalize the business finance and operational strategy for enabling organic and planned growth of the business
- Partner with our Founder and other key stakeholders to ensure that financial plans are aligned with business goals
- Work closely with the unit directors on their hiring plan, P&L, and procedures with a focus on scaling rapidly and optimizing cost
- Work closely with the financial controller on the analysis of business spending and identify areas for cost optimization and improvement
- Architect and own executive dashboards and scorecards
- Lead the implementation of automation for order processing and warehousing
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in adherence to accounting standards and standards of corporate governance
- Supervise and control operating costs including analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the company and proposing corrective actions to the CEO
**Requirements**:
- 5+ years in a leadership position (CEO, CFO, COO, Business Analyst) in a fast-growing international company
- Sharp commercial/business sense coupled with strong functional and technical knowledge
- Experience with ERP and/or similar automation solutions
- Proactive planner with dexterity in identifying and adopting emerging trends and addressing industry requirements to achieve organizational objectives
- In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping
- Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models
- Familiarity with Digital Marketing, Ecommerce and Start-up culture is a plus
- Act as coach,mentor, and build a best-in-class organization
- Available to travel within Europe and to the US
