Purpose of the Job: manage and maintain environmental, health and safety management systems in the workplace and related certifications in accordance with company policy, ensuring employee involvement and continuous improvement and supporting all site workers to operate according to best working practices.
Main Accountabilities:
1. Carry out the role of RSPP as foreseen by article 33 of Legislative Decree 81/08
2. Manage and maintain environmental, health and safety management systems in the workplace in order to achieve continuous improvement of performances, in accordance with company policies, including systems audits, document control and record keeping.
3. Ensure that all activities in the areas of competence and responsibility complies with all the SHE legal and business requirements to ensure full compliance.
4. Be directly involved in all SHE aspects for the site of Filago, from planning to implementation and completion of all necessary actions to ensure the safe conduct of the activity.
5. Perform an appropriate work-related risks assessment and implement safe systems of work, contacting external consultancy specialized where necessary, in order to keep risks under control for employees, contractors, visitors and the public.
6. Actively engage with employees and their representatives to communicate the SHE policy, troubleshoot and improve performance to continuously improve the safety culture.
7. Provide adequate information and training to all workers, to enable them to operate safely, respecting themselves, others and the environment; contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate training programs to ensure that each worker receives all the necessary training in the field of SHE and are aware of procedures to follow.
8. Ensure that all accidents, injuries, violations of environmental permits and near misses are thoroughly investigated and recorded through the use of Synthomer systems and that all staff understand the importance of using these systems in an appropriate manner; coordinate the implementation of appropriate prevention and protection measures in order to avoid the recurrence of accidents, incidents and violations of environmental permits and ensure a proactive response to all the near misses .
9. Provide support to all departments and all workers regarding SHE issues, so that everyone can carry out their activities in a safe and aware manner.
10. Monitor and report on SHE performance, to be able to provide to Global Group SHE all information and reports about performance and indicators required on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
11. Maintain a register of all licenses and permits necessary for the conduct of activities in the site and manage all related documents required by the authorities, so that they can be readily available in case of need; make periodic checks to ensure that all the required data are collected accurately.
12. Ensure that the site has an adequate emergency plan and that all staff are adequately trained to handle all emergency scenarios identified so that they can readily face emergencies that may arise.
13. Contribute to the continuous improvement of business performance and business systems such as AIMS, Management of Change, Document Control, Action Management, etc.
14. Whenever necessary, seek clarification from the Global Group SHE to discuss what procedures must be applied and what approach to take to resolve any problems.
15. Report immediately to the Site Manager all urgent and relevant SHE matters.
16. Liaise with SAS SHE manager to explore synergy and share best practice.
17. Maintain the certification according to the ISO standards 45001 and 14001 and the systems alive

Knowledge of the legislation related to the role - including but not limited to - SHE legislation, “Testo Unico della Sicurezza sul Lavoro D.Lgs 81/2008”, related amendments and additons, “Testo Unico in materia ambientale D. Lgs. 152/2006” related amendments and additons, “Accordo Stato-Regioni dated 21.12.2011 and dated 22.02.2012, related amendments and additions, “Direttiva Seveso II D. Lsg. 105/2015” related amendments and addition and “Responsabilità amministrativa degli Enti e delle Società D. Lgs. 231/2011 related amendments and additions.

Requirements & Knowledge and skills
Education: relevant degree in Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or related field.
Certifications: RSPP - Ateco mandatory; auditor certifications (e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 18001) nice to have
Experience: minimum of 7 years in SHE field. A background in chemistry is strongly preferred, especial in Seveso plants, is strongly preferred to ensure the necessary know-how for the role.
Languages: fluent Italian (minimum C1 level); fluent English (minimum B2 level).
Solid working knowledge MS Office applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
Solid ERP skills, preferably SAP.
