Job Duties:
• Thermal analysis of radar payload structures using hand calculations and Thermica\Systema tool (Definition of thermo-optical properties of materials, GMM, TMM, orbit, attitude)
• Interpretation of results to support design decisions and qualification activities in regards to the power loads due to acquisition, heaters, environment)
• Support to mechanical design through close interaction with other engineering teams (CAD, structural, system, electronics)
• Support to environmental qualification campaigns (Thermal balance, Thermal Vacuum), with analysis for preparation and post-test correlation.
• Preparation of thermal analysis reports and qualification documentation
• Support to system-level mechanical/thermal trade-offs and payload integration activities
Required skills and qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of experience – ideally 5 – in thermal analysis roles for the space / aerospace sectors
• Strong knowledge of thermal analysis and thermal equations.
• Proven experience with tools for thermal analysis (e.g. Thermica\Systema, ESATAN, Thermal Desktop or equivalent)
• Ability to build, validate, and correlate thermal models with test results
• Understanding of the product development lifecycle (from concept, through qualification, to delivery)
• Familiarity with environmental loads and qualification principles according to ECSS
• Ability to communicate in English (writing and speaking)
• Strong analytical mindset with good communication and team-working skills
Desired Skills / Qualifications
• Experience supporting thermal balance and thermal vacuum test campaigns
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary development environment
• Experience with radar, RF payloads, or high-precision structures is a plus
Candidate must be eligible to work in the Italy.
