Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Staff Developer to lead our platform’s technical direction at Jane Software. This crucial role will shape our technical strategy, leveraging advanced cloud technologies and scalable architectures to support our growth.

In addition to cloud expertise, you will provide technical leadership in application development and architectural practices, working closely with our foundations teams. As a technical leader, you will mentor and guide our senior and staff developers, fostering their professional development and enhancing our engineering practices. Your leadership will ensure Jane Software scales effectively, meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.

Compensation Expectations for the Role

Jane is committed to fair, transparent pay and growth. The annual salary range for this role is $175,600 to $285,400. This range reflects the expected growth and proficiency levels, from entry to highly accomplished roles.

Typically, new hires are expected to start between $208,600 to $219,500, representing full accomplishment in the role. Salaries below this range may indicate potential but less experience, while salaries above reflect significant impact and expertise.

The experience we feel we need…

* Extensive application development experience, including front-end, back-end, and API development, with expertise in scalable applications and experience leading large development teams.
* Leadership in cloud computing, DevOps/SRE, with experience in infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
* Strong foundation in quality assurance, automated testing, security protocols.
* Proven mentorship and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate vision and guide teams.
* Proficiency in technologies like Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, Docker, Ruby on Rails, React, etc.
* Problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of tackling complex issues and driving innovation.
* Excellent communication skills, with experience working across large teams and influencing without authority.
* Confidence to lead decision-making and support team initiatives, demonstrating successful execution examples.
