SMS group is looking for a Commissioning Manager Automation for our Center of Excellence Automation, Digital & Service Solutions.Main ResponsibilitiesResponsible for planning and executing the commissioning of complete plant / plant sections, e.G. Reheating Furnace, Hot-rolling line, finishing line etc., with regard to electrics and automation; Support to the General Commissioning Manager in planning and executing commissioning from interlinked operation tests through to acceptanceResponsibility for the commissioning of complete plant or sections (depending on the size and complexity of the project)Serving as a contact for the customer with regard to electrical and automation systems on-sitePerforms E&A; after completion of the integration testPerforming acceptance of the electrical and automation systems including contractual documentation within the scope of the integration testCoordinating the customer's instruction in use of the maintenance and operating manuals on-siteReporting (scheduling, progress, obstacles, claims-related events, etc.E&A; scheduling (input into the overall schedule)Responsible for and superior of the entire E&A; team on-siteInvolvement in planning, execution and confirmation by the customer of the guarantees and performance tests (FATs)site reportingCompetences and RequirementsKnowledge of steelmaking processesUnderstanding of the various stages of steelmaking, such as steelmaking, rolling, continuous casting, etc., and associated equipment.Systems Engineering: Ability to analyze and interpret plant and process diagrams, as well as identify technical issues.Knowledge of Safety Regulations:Familiarity with current regulations regarding workplace safety and steelmaking plant managementProject Planning and Management: Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate commissioning activities, monitoring project progress and adhering to budgets.Team Management: Ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians and engineers, providing technical support and coordinating commissioning activities.Risk Management: Ability to identify and manage commissioning-related risks, adopting preventative and corrective measures.Communication and Relationships: Ability to communicate effectively with various project stakeholders, providing progress updates and resolving issues.Documentation: Ability to prepare detailed reports on commissioning activities, providing a complete traceability of the processClaim management skillsProven expertise in PLC automation system programming (S7-TIA, S7-400); Rockwell, ControlLogix,Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCATKnowledge of HMI system development platforms; Siemens SIMATIC WinCC;Analytical skills and teamwork/team leading abilityProficiency in MS OfficeFluent in written and spoken English; Willingness to travel worldwide for software installation and commissioningDegree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.Candidates of all genders may apply to the job posting or send their CV to margherita.drescig@sms-group.comPersonal data will be processed in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679.
