Most engineering organizations are layering AI on top of their SDLC without assessing if the current model is ready for the productivity unlock of AI-assisted coding. What drives real impact is rewiring how engineering and product organizations deliver software — and then embedding AI into a process that's actually designed for it.
At Bonsai Labs, we embed directly into engineering organizations and execute this transformation. We're looking for a C- / VP / Director level engineering leader to work with us on rewiring how enterprise software companies build software.
What you'll do
* Assess the current SDLC process of clients — process, tooling, compliance, and security constraints
* Redesign the development lifecycle so it's ready for AI-augmented engineering
* Drive adoption — get engineers to actually change how they work
* Communicate progress and recommendations to C-level stakeholders
What we're looking for
* You've run an engineering org of 50+ engineers as VP Eng, CTO, or Head of Engineering
* You've led at least one major process or tooling transformation from the inside
* You know that changing how engineers work is 30% tooling and 70% trust, communication, and persistence
* You understand compliance and security — not as checkboxes, but as real constraints to design around
