The Business Controller assists hotel management in achieving its financial objectives. This includes the supervision and control of all financial aspects of the hotel. Providing input, guidance, and support to all department heads within the hotel to ensure that all of the key hotel financial KPIs are delivered.
This position is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and associate satisfaction, and operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Support the delivery of the hotel’s financial objectives
2. Ensure accuracy in monthly close reporting
3. Conduct monthly performance reviews focusing on hotel (budget) KPIs
4. Review forecasts with continuous improvements, focusing on future analysis and progress of key departmental action plans (revenue/cost)
5. Construct solid budgets
6. Drive operational efficiencies through effective data analysis
7. Measure and report compliance with standards, providing actionable insights
8. Champion initiatives to improve hotel KPIs impacting financial performance
9. Ensure department heads have sufficient financial knowledge for their roles
Job Specifications :
The main role is to help the hotel team ensure all potential business impacts, especially financial results, are controlled and aligned with business plans. Main tasks include:
* Payroll: Reconciliation of total payroll and FTES per department/outlet, review staff schedules, calculate FTEs, check payroll figures against schedules and software, review holidays/overtime, reconcile outsourcing, and analyze payroll vs. budgets.
* Inventory: Manage inventory and purchase costs, monitor PO status, conduct inventory audits, analyze costs, and prepare food cost reports.
* Other Expenses: Monitor energy costs, repairs, maintenance, supplies, rent, and external fees; report central costs.
* FO Audit: Review front office transactions, guest ledger, payments, prepayments, credit card incidences, and cash statuses.
* Internal Control: Maintain local administrative organization and internal controls aligned with policies.
* Additional responsibilities: Lead performance review meetings, assist investment decisions, participate in commercial strategy meetings, and ensure minimum benchmarks are met.
Business Controller Do’s:

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
* Proficient with SAP, Oracle, BI, and advanced Excel
* Knowledge of financial reporting systems, budgeting, and forecasting
